Association for India's Development

Compassion wherever there is suffering
Conviction that the compassion is strong enough to eliminate suffering

Courage to make this conviction a reality

This is AID...
Welcome

Association for India's Development (AID) is a non-profit volunteer movement committed to promoting sustainable, equitable and just development. In solidarity with non-violent people's struggles, AID supports grassroots organizations in India and initiates efforts in various interconnected spheres such as education, livelihoods, natural resources, health, women's empowerment and social justice.

AID believes that problems are interconnected and an effective solution must tackle them all

Problems are interconnected

AID attempts to address underlying causes rather than just the symptoms

AID was started in 1991 in Maryland by a group of students and professionals. As of 2009, AID has 36 chapters across the USA with more than 1000 volunteers. AID has supported 365 projects spread across 20 states in India and has 100 ongoing projects. The primary source of funding is the Indian community in the US.
